The Adirondack State of Mind exhibit features 66 pieces of
artwork created by 63 artists and is underwritten by First
Niagara, a financial services company that specializes in
banking, investments, and insurance. The
artwork selected reflects the artistic inspiration that the
Adirondacks continue to provide. Enter an Adirondack State of
Mind and enjoy the vision, talent, interpretations, and
creativity captured by artists and artisans in photographs,
paintings, sculpture, and fabric. The artwork presented in this
exhibit will stimulate your imagination, make you smile, and
remind you of the beauty that surrounds us everyday as we live
our lives in the shadow of the Adirondacks.
Dr. Sheldon Hurst, Chair of the Humanities Department, Director
of the Visual Arts Gallery, and Curator of the Art Collection at
Adirondack Community College in Queensbury juried this

Members of the Upper Hudson Valley Watercolor Society have put together yet
another breathtaking exhibit featuring 42 watercolors created by 25 artists.
Viewers will enjoy the versatility of watercolor, from traditional to
contemporary, from soft to vibrant. The UHVWS was formed in 1989 with
approximately 80 members from Warren, Washington and Saratoga counties but also
Vermont, Connecticut and Florida. Membership is not juried and includes all
abilities. Newcomers are welcome. The Society’s meetings are held the first
Monday of each month except July and August at LARAC’s Lapham Gallery in Glens
Falls. Activities include painting sessions, lectures, demonstrations, group
critiques and trips to museums. The group supports the efforts of its members by
advertising their accomplishments in the monthly newsletter, attending
receptions and networking. |
